1. Patient seating - Midi chair
- made of metal
In its price range the MIDI unit is the only one, which is made from high-quality aluminum. This metal is used in expensive middle-class units. The cover is often scratched with a scaler or a bur - you can paint the MIDI unit and polish with a brush mounted to micromotor handpiece. The alternative offer is the plastic cover which often fades out in UV light, or when the sulfate glows are used. When you scratch the plastic you can only replace it. The inside of MIDI unit is also very interesting. Metals like brass and bronze are the guarantee for many years of durability and usage without failure.
- quiet, reliable motor
A german, electric Hanning motor built-in the chair guarantees quiet and trouble-free operation with load up to 200 kg.
- small dimensions
Our small dimensions chair fits perfectly to surgeries with limited space. If you are replacing an old chair, more space will mean easier and more ergonomic work. On request, WE SEND A TEMPLATE of the chair's base, so you can check how it fits to your room.
- easy access to a patient
Narrow base and seat and thin backrest ensure easy access to the patient, either from the side and from behind the head (dentist's and assistant's position very close to the patient).
- foot steering, from the touchpad on the dentist's element and on the backrest of the chair; programmable positions
Chair steering is available from the dentist's console, from the side of the chair and using a foot controller. On the metal foot controller there are four buttons: chair up/down, backseat up/down. Touchless chair steering is the first condition of preventing cross-contamination. On the dentist's console and on the side of the chair, there are 4 the same buttons and 4 extra buttons for choosing and setting 4 programmable positions. They can be used to set a "zero" position - for convenient getting up and sitting on the chair; working position or a position for working with a lying patient. Choosing a preprogrammed position saves time, and any adjustments can be quickly done using the foot controller. The foot controller for changing chair's position, as well as the one for turning on instruments is connected with the chair's base by a long, flexible cable.
- one armrest, second as an option
- safety switch in the chair's base
- easy to clean upholstery in 10 pastel colours
2. The MIDI unit
Midi units are custom-built and adjusted specifically to your needs. Therefore, the following options are available:
- continental delivery system
- traditional delivery system (hanging tubes)
- cart-type, mounted to the chair's base
- separate cart, no dentist's console (optional).
The dentist's console is equipped with a 3-way blower, an LED curing light and 3 Midwest outlets without light (4-hole instruments). On request, we provide Bien Air, Kavo, NSK, W&H and other handpieces. 3 Midwest outlets can be modified or used with:
- a piezo scaler
- an air polisher
- a turbine with or without fibre optics
- a pneumatic micromotor (with or without fibre optics) or an electric micromotor (with or without fibre optics) + a straight or contra-angle handpiece
Functions available from the dentist's element:
- waterflow regulation for each instrument
- water cutoff switch for each instrument
- scaler waterflow regulation
- scaler power regulation
- micromotor forward/reverse revolutions switch
- micromotor rounds per minute control
- chair's functions are controlled by a microprocessor
The MIDI unit - the pneumatic control system
Most of available dental units on the European market are electronically controlled. Construction of that device is similar to TV-set construction, i.e. when each module is responsible for assigned function: the memory, the chair control etc. At the same time the whole device is controlled by so called main board, which coordinates other subunits. That solution is easy to service (electronics is quickly replaced) and allow for connecting other devices and subunits like integrated circuits.
The structure of the device, which is filled with electronics, is sometimes inconvenient. After a couple of years of intensive electronic subsystems operation are being used, the equipment is getting old and i.e. thermocouple cold junction, contact surfaces are being oxidized. As a result it can cause the defective working equipment, which is often hard to remove by the service (It sometimes happens that a given function sometimes works properly and sometimes doesn’t. That is why it is difficult to find the damage). Changing the whole electronic board causes that after the guarantee period the costs of reparation increases, because the parts are usually constructed for each needed unit, so they are not produced multi-serially, and for that reason they are expensive. That is why the companies with advanced technology try eliminating (where it is possible) the electronic usage not by resigning a given function but by realizing it with the help of other, less deceptive solutions. However, it is not so simple and finding a “by-pass” of electronics requires a very advanced technology and engineering knowledge. Nevertheless, the solution has been found. The solution is relatively simply and known. It is to construct a unit, which is controlled “pneumatically” (a word “pneumatic” considering that unit can be misleading-MIDI is a unit, which is controlled “pneumatically”, which doesn’t exclude the electric micromotor usage and all the other electric tools). However building a unit with full pneumatic control is not simple to achieve, which many primitive solutions on the market are the example of it.
Durability and unfailing of MIDI unit are provided by the modern technology from the field of material engineering and pneumatic control systems, so called stream automatics. The idea of PCS system is to receive the control signals by air, and then the valves are open or closed also by air. It allows to minimize the number of elements used in order to control the unit (e.g. the auto select valve of dimensions 2 cm × 9 cm × 4 cm is in charge of 12 magnetic valves, 12 transmitters and 12 micro switches), and also to eliminate the electronics completely. As a consequence, the engineers achieved the most important function: controlled unit by PCS system would NEVER stop, and eventual failure would be noticed by a dentist as the slower rotation speed at the ends. However, that failure allows a dentist to work until the service will arrive.
The PCS system additionally secures the amazing durability of control elements (nothing tarnishes, nothing gets old) and stability parameters of work. There is no way in this case for sudden and temporary change in any operational parameter caused by voltage flare or drop. Also, it does not affect the electronics.
3. Spitoon block
The spitoon block consists of:
- a porcelain bowl with a cup fill module
A fully ceramic bowl, aesthetic and easy to clean. Cup fill and bowl rinse buttons are situated on the assistant's arm and on the dentist's console. Regulated bowl rinse timer and cup filling timer.
- a cuspidor housing
Metal cuspidor housing rotates 90°, enabling easy access to the left side of the patient. Inside the housing there is a distilled water bottle (closed circuit distilled water system) and suction filter. The spitoon block is ready for connecting a high volume suction and an amalgam separator.
- assistant's arm
Assistant's arm is attached to the spitoon block and holds a 3-way blower, 2 high volume suctions and 2 buttons for cup filling and bowl risning. Wide movement scope.
4. Post mount dental lamp
Dental lamp, mounted on a pantographic arm, two light intensity modes 15 000 / 22 000 lux, manual switch (optional motion sensor).
5. Utility centre
Our service technicians will take care of connecting your unit to a compressor, drainage, electricity and suction pump. Installation using standard parts is free. Please contact us to arrange a visit of our representative - we will check if any modifications are needed, is your compressor or suction pump appropriate for using with our unit. If you open a new surgery, we will advise where to install the required supplies.
6. Handpieces
Units are sold without handpieces. On request, we offer NSK, Bien Air, Kavo, W&H and other products. We can check if your handpieces will fit Midwest connectors, as extra couplings or modifications may be needed.
7. Optional equipment
Unit's optional equipment includes:
- an intra-oral camera with an LCD monitor
- an air polisher with a Midwest connector
- a built-in piezo scaler
- a high volume suction system and an amalgam separator
The following stand-alone devices are also available:
- air abrasion system
- piezo scaler
- air-polisher/scaler combined unit
- ozone generator
- teeth whitening lamp
- X-ray machine with accessories
- ultrasonic washer
- autoclave
When the above devices are bought together with the Midi unit, we offer good discounts.
8. Compressor
For correct functioning of the unit, an oil-less compressor is required. Depending on the quantity of surgeries and other factors, we will recommend a compressor with a proper tank capacity, performance, with or without a dryer or a silence box. We use Ekom and Atlas Copco compressor, as they are oil-less, reliable and designed and certified for medical use. Our units are sold without a compressor, connecting to the one you currently use is free.
9. High volume suction systems with amalgam separators
In order to use high volume suction and to meet the European Union legal requirements, we recommend to use Cattani suction systems with an amalgam separator. The unit is ready to install and connect those devices. In the standard version, the amalgam separator is connected only to the suction, however is it possible to separate waste also from the spitoon (extra valves needed; optional).
10. Operator stools
We offer doctor's and assistant's stools - traditional and saddle-type, ask for details. On request, we change the upholstery of your current stools to the same as on the patient's chair.
Delivery and installation
As the units are custom-built, we deliver and install them in average in 3 weeks from placing an order. Installation using standard parts and connectors is free. Please contact us for exact quotation on delivery, as it depends on your localisation.
Service maintenance
With a network of experienced technicians, we provide UK-wide service maintenance for our units. If any problem occurs, an instant telephone advice is often very useful or an engineer can visit your surgery. Alternatively, we can sign a contract with your trusted engineer. The Midi unit is based on easily accessible DCI parts (the same as in A-dec units), therefore there is absolutely no problem in getting spare parts during the warranty and post-warranty period. No electronic parts and using proven pneumatic technology minimises the risk of breakdown.
Warranty
The basic warranty is 12 months. With a separate contract, we can extend it to 36 months with check-ups every 6 months.
References
Our units have been manufactured for 13 years. During that period, they were constantly modified and improved, to better fit your needs. They are being sold in the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Ukraine - to private and public surgeries. We can provide references on request.
Why so cheap
As an independent manufacturer, we can compete by price and quality with the best known brands. However, we keep much lower employment and marketing costs. Our units are reliable and designed for ergonomic work, that`s why you don`t pay for the things the most prone to failure: electronic parts, LCD displays etc. The units are assembled in Poland, using high-quality metal and expensive, imported parts (pneumatic modules, membranes - DCI, USA; chair's engine - Hanning, Germany), and that is the reason why our units can`t be compared to cheap products from the South America or China. We encourage you to compare the quality of our units to our competitors' - even the much more expensive.
Presentations and quotations
We participats in most of the main dental exhibitions in our region. The units can be seen during the London Dental Showcase (October), International Dental Show (Cologne, March), Central European Dental Exhibition (Lodz, September) and during other local events.
We encourage you to arrange a presentation of our products at one of our branches or surgeries, where they were installed. Please contact us by phone or email. Then, we will also provide an individual quotation.
